It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer …
which means it’s time to start perfecting your cold canapé recipes in time for the season of garden parties and outdoor receptions. Here are three recipes of our favourites for you to try at home.

Caprese Crostini
This classic, quintessentially Italian combination of ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fresh green basil leaves might not seem like much. But it’s all about the quality of these ingredients: the juiciest, plumpest tomatoes; the freshest, locally-produced mozzarella; and the sweetest, liveliest—perhaps even home-grown—basil leaves. Stack each lovingly sourced ingredient onto toasted baguette slices and drizzle with a good quality, cold-pressed, extra-virgin olive oil.

Smoked Salmon Blini
You can make your own blinis at home by whisking plain flour, egg yolk, and milk with butter until smooth, folding in beaten egg whites, and frying spoonfuls of the batter on each side like mini pancakes (which is essentially what they are). Once they’re cool, they can be used for a range of cold canapés. For smoked salmon blinis, top each one with generous cuts of smoked salmon, a dollop of crème fraîche, and a little fresh dill to garnish.

Cucumber Cups with Peppers and Dill
This is an easy one for the discerning vegan: Chop whole cucumbers into bite-size rounds and hollow them out with a melon baller. Then fill them up with sweet roasted peppers and fresh dill before topping off with a tangy mustard dressing.
Each of these cold canapés is fully customisable, so they’re great if you want to play around with additions of your own. Of course, we’re always on hand to help with the cold canapés catering if you want the professional touch and extra services. Get in touch to discuss your ideal summer canapés party today!
